Why you should avoid high fructose corn syrup

Why you should avoid high fructose corn syrup… This is a crucial topic to address these days. Now, why should you avoid high fructose corn syrup? Because IT IS BAD FOR YOU! The fructose stays in your liver due to your liver’s inability to fully break it down. It is just like drinking alcohol. Pretty soon you will develop problems in the liver.

Additionally, not only will high fructose corn syrup make your liver unhealthy. Sugars in general have to ability to add weight to a human being. So if you are trying to lose weight, I would suggest avoiding sugary foods and especially those with high fructose corn syrup, which is really bad for your health.

Swine Flu

Well, Winter is almost here, and guess what, it’s also flu season, which of course includes the newest of them all, the swine flu. H1N1 influenza will cause at least 90,000 deaths in the United States, according to some studies. Here are some tips to help prevent the spread.

1) When you are sick, stay away from public places so that you can prevent spreading it to other people.

2) Wash your hands regularly and use hand sanitizer if washing isn’t possible.

3) Always cover your sneezes with either your elbow or a tissue.

Good luck and stay well!

Color Matters When it Comes to Fruits and Vegetables

When it comes to fruits and vegetables, color is one of the most important things to determine how healthful the product is. We recently read a study that shows that fruits with darker colors offer more nutritional values. For example, if you eat a purple plum that’s not so purple in color, then you won’t get as much of the vitamin C or other nutrients if you ate a darker colored one. In addition, we also found out that different colors means different nutrients. Red, purple, orange, yellow–they all suggest the fruit or vegetable contains a different nutrient. Therefore, we suggest that you should eat not only your daily suggested amount of fruits and vegetables, but eat a different variety of each.
